An ultralow-power all-optical logic data distributor with dual address bits, based on resonant excitation enhanced nonlinearity by upconversion radiative transfer, is realized by Xiaoyong Hu and co-workers in article number 1700360. An ultralow operating threshold control intensity is reached, an ultrafast response time is simultaneously maintained, and a high intensity contrast ratio between the output logic states “1” and “0” is achieved. This device paves the way for the realization of real-time multibit all-optical computing chips.
