In light of Earth’s day on 22nd April 2022, Researcher Live is hosting a month-long series of events where experts and book authors specialising in Climate Change, Conservation, Sustainability and Ecology will present their work.  Sign up here to receive email updates about this series.  The event page can be found here.

Join us on the 10th May at 1pm BST / 12pm GMT/ for episode twelve. In a world where climate change impacts us all, PLOS Climate is empowering global collaboration between all stakeholders – researchers and organizations, individuals and policymakers. Join Editor-in-Chief Emma Archer and Executive Editor Jamie Males to learn more about the aims of the journal, and how it contributes to some of the biggest conversations about the future of our planet. They will also be joined by recent PLOS Climate author John Bruno, marine ecologist and Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (US) to highlight his recent co-authored paper,A century of warming on Caribbean reefs"

Explore the latest PLOS Climate articles, and learn more about this new Open Access journal.

,Avatar Dr Jamie Males, Executive Editor of PLOS Climate

Jamie received a BA in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford, where he developed a fascination with plant ecophysiology, before undertaking a PhD in Plant Sciences at the University of Cambridge. His doctoral research focused on the physiological drivers of climatic niches in tropical plants. He has performed fieldwork in the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, and Australia, and has participated in a range of science education and outreach initiatives. Through interacting with researchers in a wide range of countries and contexts, Jamie developed a keen interest in Open Access and Open Science, leading him to join PLOS in June 2017.

,Avatar Prof John Bruno, University of North Carolina

Dr John Bruno is a marine ecologist and Professor in the Department of Biology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research is focused on marine biodiversity and macroecology, coral reef ecology and conservation, and the impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems. He earned his Ph.D. from Brown University in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and was a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University in disease ecology.
