Process Intensification by Pulsations in Chemical Engineering: Some General Principles and Implementation
Rufat Abiev
Some general principles of process intensification by pulsations in chemical engineering and their implementation in processes of dispersion of droplets, mixing, dissolution, extraction, leaching, and chemical reactions are discussed. Resonance pulsations are recommended as one of the way of crucial process intensification. It was shown that, in pulsating apparatuses, energy consumption is decreased several times, compared with traditional chemical equipment, the duration of processes is reduced from 3–4 to 38–48 times, with the yield augmented 2–5-fold.
