Two new manganese-containing polyoxometalates (Mn-POMs) were synthesized from the reaction of the lacunary precursor Na9[B-α-XW9O33] (X = AsIII and SbIII) with MnII cations and bpy ligands. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) investigations revealed a structural similarity of Mn-POMs. The polyoxometalates were well characterized by SCXRD, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, electrochemistry, and magnetism.
