Influence of 18-Crown-6 Ether Coordination on the Catalytic Activity of Potassium and Calcium Diarylphosphinites in Hydrophosphorylation Reactions

The addition of dimesitylphosphane oxide across isopropylisocyanate is catalyzed by dimesitylphosphinites, with the potassium salt being more efficient than the calcium complex. Shielding of the metal ions by 18-crown-6 decelerates this catalytic hydrophosphorylation.
