The crystalline film of a redox-active porous coordination network composed of 2,5,8-tri(4- pyridyl)1,3-diazaphenalene and Cd(NO3)2 prepared by simple solvent evaporation method showed chemiresistive humidity sensing ability. The dissociation/coordination of nitrate ions on Cd is a key mechanism to change electrical on/off-state, which was confirmed by single crystal X-ray analysis and IR spectroscopy.
