Constrained 2-phenylbenzo[b]phosphole P-oxides bearing diphenylamino groups at the terminal positions as well as carbon- and silicon-bridging moieties were synthesized. The study on the impact of the bridging moieties on their photophysical properties revealed that even the silicon-brdiged compounds show outstanding photostability under irradiation with a xenon lamp, as far as the bridging moieties have sufficient steric bulkiness.
