Metalated Ylides: A New Class of Strong Donor Ligands with Unique Electronic Properties
Viktoria H. Gessner, Lennart T. Scharf
Metalated ylides are unique ligand systems exhibiting unusual bonding situations and strong donor abilities. Because of their two lone pairs of electrons at the ylidic carbon atom, they can function as σ- and π-donor ligands. These properties can be applied in main-group-element and transition-metal chemistry, such as for the stabilization of electron-deficient or cationic species.
