Thromboprophylaxis to prevent cancer-associated venous thromboembolism (VTE) is well described in adult cancer patients. However, there is limited data and guidance available on prophylaxis of cancer-associated VTE in children. This statement therefore provides guidance on how best to identify children at risk for cancer-associated VTE. It also provides guidance regarding the selection and use of appropriate prophylactic agents and modalities. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
