Self-Organized Transformation from Hexagonal to Orthorhombic Bronze of Cs–Nb–W–O Mixed Oxides Prepared Hydrothermally

The structural transformation process of the hexagonal bronze Cs0.2(W,Nb)O3 to the orthorhombic Cs0.5(Nb2.5W2.5)O14 crystal phase has been explained. Our understanding of this transformation process can be extended to any structurally related functional system and contributes to a comprehensive scenario for the crystal growth of the M1 catalyst phase and its relationship with the M2 phase.
