Four 3D metal−organic frameworks (MOFs) based on a V-shaped tetracarboxylate ligand have been synthesized and characterized; 1 reveals high selective adsorption for CO2 over CH4, while Eu@3 as a luminescent sensor can selectively and sensitively detect Cu2+, Fe3+, and Cr2O72− ions.
