[ASAP] Ubiquity of cis-Halide ? Isocyanide Direct Interligand Interaction in Organometallic Complexes

Two coordination adducts of niobium pentahalides with an isocyanide ligand have been synthesized and characterized by experimental (X-ray crystallography, IR and NMR spectroscopy) and theoretical (Natural Orbitals for Chemical Valence-Charge Displacement analysis) techniques, in order to evidence and quantify the Xcis−Cisocyanide interaction. The latter has been demonstrated to be present in all the complexes having an isocyanide and a halide ligands in a mutual cis position.
