Novel air-stable coordination compounds based on a 5-nitropicolinic carboxylate were synthesized and characterized. Dysprosium-based complex exhibits SMM behavior with frequency dependence of the out-of-phase susceptibility at zero dc field. High-resolution MS (ESI) and diffusion NMR experiments suggest that the dinuclear skeleton of these compounds is robust and maintained in solution.
