A new deep-ultraviolet nonlinear-optical (NLO) material has been discovered. Large single crystals of K3Sr3Li2Al4B6O20F have been grown by top-seeded-solution-growth methods, with an optical axis dimension of 5 mm. Linear and NLO measurements reveal a birefringence of 0.0574 at 1064 nm with a second-harmonic-generation limit of 224 nm. As such, K3Sr3Li2Al4B6O20F is a viable material to generate 266 nm radiation through fourth-harmonic generation from 1064 nm.
