Investigating the magnitude and source of orientation-dependent interactions between TiO2 crystal surfaces

Forces between rutile (001) planes in water were measured by using oriented single crystal AFM tips, exhibiting 90[degree] periodicity induced by vdW interactions and mainly H-bonding.
