Copper(II) complexes with a trigonal pyramidal (“tetrahedral”) geometry with C3v symmetry containing a labile coordination site have been prepared by using a new tridentate N3 ligand (TMG3tach) consisting of cis,cis-1,3,5-triaminocyclohexane (tach) and three N,N,NN′-tetramethylguanidino (TMG) groups.
