Novel dual-emissive luminescent material was assembled by putting a Zn2+ ion sensitive chromophore into MOF-5. The dual-emissive composite material is highly selectively sensitive toward Al3+ and monoethanolamine, which makes it a potential self-calibrated fluorescence sensor.
