The V[double bond, length as m-dash]O complexes in atmospheric residues, their maltene, resin and asphaltene fractions have been investigated using ESR to examine the effects of the surrounding matrixes on the electron structure and mobility of the V[double bond, length as m-dash]O ion at various conditions.
