New pyridylthiosemicarbazide ligands conjugated to the tumor targeting peptides octreotate and cyclic-RGD peptides were used to form {M═O}3+ complexes (where M = Tc or Re) that feature two targeting peptides attached to the single metal ion. These modified “HYNIC” ligands are capable of forming well-defined rhenium and technetium complexes offering the possibility of using radionuclides of technetium and rhenium as imaging and therapeutic matched pairs.
