For how long should patients with FCD be followed up?
Abstract
Functional cognitive disorders (FCD) have gained a higher profile in recent times, but in the absence of diagnostic criteria or tests the diagnosis is always provisional. An arbitrary one‐year period of follow up has been suggested. Dr Hamid and Dr Larner present a case in which a diagnosis other than FCD emerged later than this duration of follow up.
