An Amine Functionalized Metal–Organic Framework as an Effective Catalyst for Conversion of CO2 and Biginelli Reactions

A two-fold interpenetrated anionic Zn(II) based porous MOF has been synthesized. The MOF contains both Lewis acidic and basic sites and has been used for CO2 fixation to form cyclic carbonates as well as for Biginelli reaction to form dihydropyrimidinones.
