Carbon-doped anatase mesoporous TiO2 multi-tubes were synthesized from a banana stem fiber template for enhanced photocatalytic activity. The proposed method is useful for the low-cost, and large scale production of multi-tubes nanostructures for the practical applications. The synthesized photocatalyst has promising activity against reduction of toxic Cr(VI) to nontoxic Cr(III).
