Chiral molecules display a unique interaction with light. Here, the synthesis of two types of chiral structures based on spiro compounds is presented, each of which show remarkable chiroptical activity. The structure of the (P2)-1 molecule shows a double helix formed by all-carbon atoms, whereas the (P4)-2 molecule revealed a flexible configuration that modifies its chiroptical activity, but keeps its overall peculiar structure.
