Preparation and characterization of nanoparticle reinforced alginate fibers with high porosity for potential wound dressing application

A novel fiber dressing was fabricated by blending nano-silica/hydroxyapatite with alginate via microfluidic spinning, demonstrating delayed degradation, greater mechanical property and superior bioactivity due to the reinforcing alginate fibers.
