Microwave irradiation allows the formation of uniform nanoscale coating layers, even on the inside of carbon nanotubes. As Choongho Yu and co-workers report in article number 1704877, it is sufficient to immerse the substrate into a solution of uncured polymer, which then solidifies only on the tubes due to the localized heat generated by the microwaves.
