Utilizing the more economical and abundant late first-row transition-metal catalysts is a strong tendency for sustainable chemical synthesis. A CoII-catalyzed enantioselective addition of potassium allyltrifluoroborate to cyclic ketimines was developed, providing the corresponding chiral α-tertiary amines in high yields and with good enantioselectivities. The chiral Ph-substituted bis(oxazoline) ligand is crucial for the success of this asymmetric addition reaction. For more information, see the Communication by G. Yang, W.
