Three-coordinate NHC-cobalt(0)-olefin complexes in the forms of (NHC)Co(vtms)2 and (NHC)2Co(vtms) were prepared from the reactions of NHCs, CoCl2, vinylsilane, with alkali-metal reducing agents. These cobalt(0) complexes react with Ph2SiH2 to furnish diversified cobalt-silyl complexes.
