The polymorph of gestodene crystallizing from the cooling crystallization in solution is difficult to control due to the concomitant appearance of forms I and II. In this work, a systematic design of a crystallization temperature and initial supersaturation coupled controlled crystallization system was performed to control the polymorphism. The interplay between thermodynamics and kinetics on the polymorphic outcome was discussed.
