A series of anionic iridium(III) complexes, equipped with a bis-tetrazolate chelator, is reported. These complexes exhibit strong photoluminescence in the red, green, and blue and high electrochemical stability. They prove promising emitters for stable light-emitting electrochemical cells based on unconventional anionic active materials.
