Sequential photoinduced energy transfer followed by electron transfer leading to the formation of charge separated states in a newly assembled series of supramolecular triads comprised of boron dipyrromethenes (BODIPY or BDP), aluminum porphyrin (AlTPP), and C60 is demonstrated.
