We developed the first examples of inorganic−organic hybrid cuprous and silver halogenides of the type [(Me)2-2,2′-bipy]M8X10 (M = Cu or Ag; X = Br or I) with novel three-dimensional networks and stable visible light-driven photocatalytic properties due to the template effects, band structural regulation, and separating abilities of photoinduced carriers originating from the photosensitive cations.
