Single-crystal TiS2 nanosheets with very uniform morphology and narrow size distribution were prepared via a modified colloidal chemistry method by Haibo Zeng, Shixiang Xu, Han Zhang and co-workers (article number 1701166). The TiS2 nanosheets were calculated to have direct-bandgap structure and showed remarkable nonlinear optics property. A TiS2 nanosheets-based saturable absorber can be developed as an excellent candidate for photonic devices.
