Enantioselective Aldol Reactions in Water by a Proline-Derived Cryptand and Fixation of CO2 by Its Exocyclic Co(II) Complex

l-Proline functionalized chiral cryptand L efficiently catalyzed the aldol reactions in water. The Co(II) complex 1 in combination with TBAB catalyzed the cycloaddition of epoxides and CO2 under ambient conditions affording the cyclic carbonates.
