A valid tactic for facile synthesis of multifunctional tellurium nanorods to achieve simultaneous chemophotohermal combination cancer therapy is reported by Tianfeng Chen and co-workers in article number 1701388. In combination with near-infrared (NIR) laser irradiation, the tellurium nanorods exhibit good photothermal conversion ability from NIR light to heat energy, and show excellent chemo-photothermal efficiency and low toxicity to normal organs.
