Synergistic molecular mixing of FAPbI3 and CsSnI3 perovskites (FA=formamidinium) and formation of new crystalline alloy perovskites are reported by W. Sun, N. P. Padture et al. in their Communication (DOI: 10.1002/anie.201705965). The alloy perovskite of the composition (FAPbI3)0.7(CsSnI3)0.4 has an anomalous ideal bandgap of 1.3 eV for single-junction thin-film solar cells with an unusually high photocurrent.
