Iron(III) Metallacryptand and Metallacryptate Assemblies Derived from Aroylbis(N,N-diethylthioureas)
Adelheid Hagenbach, Chien Thang Pham, Ulrich Abram, Hung Huy Nguyen
A series of iron(III) compounds with cryptand topology has been obtained from the self-assembly of aroylbis(N,N-diethylthiourea) ligands with Fe3+ ions or mixtures of Fe3+ ions and monovalent metal ions. All oligonuclear assemblies were spectroscopically and structurally characterized. The redox properties of representative complexes were studied by cyclic voltammetry.
