A National Survey of Practical Airway Training in UK Anaesthetic Departments. Time for a National Policy?

(Abstracted from Anaesthesia, 71:1273–1279, 2016) This article outlines the results of a 2013 survey that provides a snapshot of current practices regarding airway training workshops in the UK National Health Service hospitals. In the Fourth National Audit Project (NAP4) of the Royal College of Anesthetists and Difficult Airway Society, it was found that the most common reasons for complications were due to a lack of training, education, and judgment.
