(BJOG. 2016;123(13):2131–2138) Cerebral palsy (CP) involves permanent disorders of movement that result from injuries to the developing brain. While it has been common to associate CP with hypoxia during birth, most cases of CP have now been found to be unrelated to delivery and probably result from antenatal events although the exact causes are usually unknown.
