Palladium nanoparticles were fixed inside zeolite crystals to obtain a catalyst with superior selectivity in the hydrogenation of substituted nitroarenes with multiple reducible groups. In their Communication (DOI: 10.1002/anie.201703938), L. Wang, F.-S. Xiao, and co-workers show that the high selectivity is due to the sterically controlled adsorption of the nitroarenes on the palladium nanoparticles within the zeolite micropores.
