Interstellar! The modular synthesis and characterization of several substituted N-hetero benzenacyclooctaphanes, a new motif for heteroaromatic conjugated cycles, is presented. The graphic illustrates the versatility of our system, demonstrated by several crystal structures of our target molecules. These were synthesized by condensation of substituted aromatic ortho-diamines with a cyclic octaketone building block. More information can be found in the Full Paper by U. H. F. Bunz et al.
