Understanding the Coordination Modes of [Cu(acac)2(imidazole)n=1,2] Adducts by EPR, ENDOR, HYSCORE, and DFT Analysis

Electron paramagnetic resonance, electron nuclear double resonance, hyperfine sublevel correlation spectroscopy, and density functional theory were used to study the coordination of imidazole to a model [Cu(acac)2] complex, revealing the formation of the trans-equatorial [Cu(acac)2Im2] bis-adduct at high copper to Im ratios.
