The complexation of DOTA with Am(III) and Pu(III) was investigated in solution. An intermediate species C1 complex [An(H2DOTA)(H2O)5+], which is formed instantaneously, evolves toward a C2 complex [An(DOTA)(H2O)]. The variation of the logarithm of the concentration of the C1 species versus time was investigated by UV−visible spectrophotometry for Am-DOTA and Pu-DOTA species.
