Controlled Synthesis of CeO2NS-Au-CdSQDs Ternary Nanoheterostructure: A Promising Visible Light Responsive Photocatalyst for H2 Evolution

The current study on Au-sandwiched CeO2NS-CdSQD ternary hybrids highlights the photocatalytic H2 evolution (apparent conversion efficiency 13.2%) in the presence of sulfite/sulfide (hole acceptor) under visible light illumination. This investigation gives an in-depth idea about the synergistic interactions between functionalized components interlinked in a nanosheet framework, leading to effective charge separation through a heterostructure relay pathway, and the role of Au and CdSQDs in driving UV active CeO2 to the visible region.
