Researcher Live will be hosting a live panel discussion on academic entrepreneurship at 2pm GMT on the 8th December for our audience of researchers. The panel session will be discussing the steps and milestones needed to create a new, funded venture once a commercial opportunity has been identified within an academic environment.

The session will be chaired by Nick Gregg from Blenheim Chalcot, and joined by our Researcher CEO, Olly Cooper,.

Speakers Elisa Petris

Elisa Petris is a Partner at Syncona Investment Management Ltd. She is a Director on the Board of Quell Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company focusing on a range of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, and the prevention of rejections in organ transplantation. Elisa was previously on the Board of Achilles Therapeutics, an oncology cell therapy company, and the former portfolio company Blue Earth Diagnostics. She was closely involved in the foundation of Quell, Blue Earth and Achilles Therapeutics, including their operational and strategic set-up.

Previously, she was a Senior Associate at Michel Dyens & Co. working on transactions covering the healthcare space, and a member of the Life Science team at L.E.K. Consulting based in London. While at L.E.K., she worked on projects for biotech, pharma and private equity clients. Elisa holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from Imperial College and an MBA from London Business School.

,Matt White

Matt White is Chief Commercialisation Officer of Frontier IP plc, a company whose focus is Intellectual Property (IP), specifically partnering with universities and research institutes to help commercialise technologies produced through academic research programmes. Matt works closely with portfolio companies to accelerate commercialisation. He has over 23 years’ experience in technology, product and service innovation, business development and marketing. In his previous role he was Head of Innovation, AB Sugar, part of FTSE 100 group AB Foods. He also has extensive experience working with university partners. He has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.

,Nick Gregg

Nick Gregg is an entrepreneur, investor and former equity analyst and strategy consultant. After leading the Blenheim Chalcot Investment Team for 4 years, Nick is now managing strategic projects for Blenheim Chalcot Founding Partners and exploring potential new venture opportunities.
