Front Cover: Atherectomy using a solid-state laser at 355 nm wavelength (J. Biophotonics 10/2017)
The first two clinical cases of PAD (peripheral arterial disease) treatment using a short nanosecond pulses of a solid-state laser at 355 nm delivered through a hybrid catheter, (Eximo Medical Ltd.), are presented. Successful recanalization of the occluded arteries, along with a pre-clinical study constitutes a proof of concept for using a solid-state pulsed laser at 355 nm in atherectomy.Further details can be found in the article by Herzog Amir et al. on pp. 1271–1278.
